Mario has always been portrayed as a hero. As gamers, we’ve invested most of our childhood sitting in front of the tube helping our favorite plumber rescue his “boo” from the evil clutches of King Bowser.
…but wait! What if Mario isn’t the hero we all though he was? What if the adventure was all a ruse to help him achieve his own personal fiendish plot? If this cartoon holds any truth, then we are all suckers and Princess Peach may have endured unspeakable things after Mario beat that infamous 8th castle.
The cartoons titled Three Russian Bogaturs (I think that translates to Heroes), are hilarious quirky Russian animated shorts featuring 3 heroes interacting with various pop culture characters such as Godzilla, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Darth Vader, etc. Everything from the hand drawn inspired animation to the cheeky sound effects are charming and funny. Absolutely no translation is needed to watch these. Check out their Youtube channel for more.
I think its also worth mentioning that a similarly hilarious series was created a few years back. We’re not sure if the Versus series by Tvigle.ru was done by the same animation team, but it sure seems so. Check out their Youtube channel for more.
